Mom's Club!

I have to say that one of my favorite things to do as a Mom is having lunch with my girlfriends and the kiddos! I try to get together with one of my girlfriends every 2 weeks, sometimes once a week. Depends on how hectic my schedule is. We like to catch up on whatever is going on, talk about the kiddos, the weather, any adult conversation is good when you are at home with kids all day. I read in a parent magazine that every mom/wife should have girlfriends and make time for them too. What they were trying to say is THEY WILL HELP YOU STAY SANE.

I love all the friends that I have, most which I have known for a couple of years some from High School. It's funny how we get together and talk about the days when we were teenagers and how we would gossip and nowadays we still do the same... we just added a bunch of Kids in the picture. Were happy with the closest kid place that the kids can run loose, while we chat it up! I enjoy our girl talks.

Growing OldER.

Old Lady Pictures, Images and Photos
My mom's 50th birthday party is this Sunday, March 1st and I will be turning 25 on April 1st!
April fool's day!
...ha ha ha. I'm an April Fool (said with extreme sarcasim.)
You know, I feel old. I know 25 years old isn't "old" to anyone BUT Nevaeh, who believes turning 7 is old! But I feel older than 25. I swear in some other life I am an 80 year old, grumpy, lady wearing cheetah print sweaters with red lipstick on my teeth. FYI: I LOVE CHEETAH PRINT and I actually worry that I will never grow out of it. I feel sorry for you if I am still around at 80 and you are my friend :) I think becoming a mom at 18 has a lot to do with feeling older. When something like that happens you have no choice, but to grow up or do you? Some beg to differ. I was meant to be a Mommy. And as these special birthdays approach I would like to reflect on the success I have had in my 25 years. Everyone has different definitions of success and to me it's having the Family I have always wanted. "If you love what you are doing you will be successful." As kids we Imagine. Some kids pretend to be famous singers or doctors sometimes even presidents, but I've always wanted the simple things [which I never knew would be the hardest jobs I've ever loved doing] I wanted the house. The husband. The kids. I used to play with baby dolls and went grocery shopping and played house, as do all little girls but that's what I used to want badly. Now I feel RICH in having what I have. Who gets 2 perfect little girls who are each others best friends AND a perfect happy son to complete her? ME! Not only am I living MY life raising my kids showing them unconditional love as much as I can, but I have a husband who CARES and SHOWS he cares for us and who has the same hopes and dreams as me. We have a house. We have cars. We have food on the table [that's a given see my fat face], but we also work hard and play hard ALL FOR OUR FAMILY, that matters most! I look forward in celebrating my birthday with my friends and family on April 4th and I am planning a party for my mom this Sunday for her 50th Birthday Bash. She deserves it, she is such a good person. Well have a good rest of the week new pics soon :)

First word..Nasty?

Baby Cruz turned 8 months yesterday! Sad thing is I didn't realize until I was at wk and realized what the date was. These days they just all run together...I guess that's what happens when you have 3 kids, a husband, a very important social life :) AND working overtime for FLU SEASON will do for you, but enough with the pity party and back to Cruz. He is crawling around everywhere now and he will pull up from a chair or bed and just stand until eventually he gets tired and just sits for a few seconds before he continues to crawl on his adventure! It's so cute to watch him I just stare at him and then before I know it he is smiling right back at me. It's priceless! I love his smile. So this morning while Jay was getting ready for work and Nevaeh for school I was up bright and early with Mr. Cruz laying in bed and I had to change his wet diaper, well usually Jay and I both say "Naasty boy." or "You're so nasty!!" and he will just smile back :) or if he gets dirty or touches something he wasn't supposed to, we say "That's nasty!" as we rub our noses together with his or something to make him laugh. Well this morning as I went to pick him up it seemed as if he was going to spit up and I said " You better not spit up on bed, NAAASTY!" and he smiled and said (what sounded like) "uhhsy"...OK! I can't make his sound, but I repeated "Naaaasty!" again several times and he was trying to sound it out! I turned and looked at Jay and I said "His first word better not be NASTY! because it's supposed to be Momma!!" LOL.... Jay argues and thinks it will be "Daddy" but Whatev he loves me more...or the word nasty!! The End.

And we shall call him Cupid...

Valentine's day 2009 is now the BEST date me and Jay have EVER shared!!! I wish it was longer, but it may had not been so Wonderful!!! Having dinner with our friends followed by dancing was just icing to the cake for the great time we had that night. We got to relax before getting ready since we checked in at 3:00pm. We were so comfortable we arrived late to the dinner, BUT nothing was going to ruin that night. Because I said NO RUSHING, if you know me, you know I am always late. I will be late to my own funeral. So our friends teased about us about being late considering we were the only ones that were staying in the same city as Joe T's (ah oh well). When we got to dinner they asked what Cruz's new brother would be named and we all decided on "Cupid" LOL. We were so happy there was no looong drive after ending the night, our hotel was walking distance and it took us 2 minutes MAX to arrive! It was awesome. We got to sleep in and eat fresh breakfast when we woke up and no hangover from the night before, so that was a PLUS :) It was a very romantic night I shall add! Thank you babe for all that you did, I love you!!!

Valentine's Day Weekend <3

Today is Friday the 13th...guess what tomorrow is?! Yupp, u probably already know or read the title :) Last night me and Nevaeh stayed up making Valentine treats and wrapping up with her Valentine cards for school today. I used to love classroom parties and I try to make it just as exciting for Nevaeh. So I got this really cute idea from a parent magazine I read for her teacher's gift this year. We traced her hands and then cut them out after she wrote " Mrs. Elliott, You deserve a HAND Love, Nevaeh" We attached them on the sides of a tube of lotion. Is that not cute and cheap! It was a little time consuming since we made a couple, but we were so excited about it we didn't mind.

So Jay booked us a hotel room at the HILTON for Saturday night when we will be in Fort Worth. Is that not sweet? I wasn't that into the idea after he told me how much he paid for the Executive suite (Jay HAD to correct me on that one) only because I don't like to spend money like that on US, but after just minutes :) of Jay telling me how relaxing it was going to be and how we could get ready there with NO RUSH before we headed out for the night...I was SOLD! I am so excited for tomorrow. We have a sitter. I have an outfit. And we will be having dinner with some of our great friends including my brother and his FIANCE (because they are engaged) and my all time favorite cousin and his girlfriend who is one of my best friends. So lots of pictures to follow soon! I hope you have a great Valentine's Day also! Even if it's treating yourself for 2 outfits or MORE because you have no date on Valentine's night and you are stuck at home babysitting ...right Daisy? I love you Sister! Muah.

Excuse this house.

Some houses try to hide the fact
That children shelter there;
Ours boast of it quite openly.
The signs are everywhere.
For smears are on the windows,
Little smudges on the doors;
I should apologize, I guess.
For toys strewn on the floor.
But I sat down with the children
And we played and laughed and read;
And if the doorbell doesn't shine,
Their eyes will shine instead.
For when at times I'm forced to choose
The one job or the other;
I'd like to cook and clean and scrub,
But first I'll be a mother.

On Facebook today I read a blog about a friend of mine whose sister just had her first baby boy in January. He has had 2 seizures since his birth and has suffered brain hemorrhage. His future is unknown, only time will tell. They know there is a chance he will have special needs. My heart goes out to her and her husband I know that being a parent is hard enough, let alone caring for a child with special needs. I admire any parent in a situation like that. It takes a lot of praying and patience to get through when fear and doubts want to cloud the view. I realize how BLESSED I am. I mean I know I'm lucky to have my kids- at least I feel lucky, but when I go to bed tonight I will say a prayer for that innocent little baby boy. We all know that only God knows his plan, but every bit counts, right? I will give an EXTRA thanks for having my kids safely tucked in bed. The look on those 3 little kids faces when they see me for the first time after being gone for no more than 2 hrs is priceless. They see me as their WORLD when reality is... They teach ME something new each day and I couldn't imagine life without their smiles or even FITS! It's time for bed now, but just know that when I wake up in the morning I will give everything to add more patience to my crazy AM routine. Because I am Grateful! I will be dreaming of them....

Something that will NEVER get old to watch in our house..

We were watching American Idol the other night and like always, as it breaks to commercial we always rush to ask "where's the remote?" so we can fast forward through the commercials. I mean it's 2009 who watches commercials any more? I kid, but this one just caught our attention. It had my daughters and husband laughing so hard we watched it 5 more times (seriously 5!) and here it is again...

...our fav is the boy at the end "work."
